In 2015 Mr Russell Johnson opened Circle of Friends Learning Acdemy (COFLA) to have a place where his own grandchildren could grow and learn. .The school focuses on early literacy, developing mental, physical as well as social skills.
Mr. Johnson’s passion to improve the health and welfare of the students and the community as a whole; shaped the vision for the community garden.
COFLA city garden project mission is to plant, cultivate and supply healthy food choices for our youth at Circle of Friends Learning Academy as well as the surrounding communities. The garden will serve as a gateway to join the school with the community in the collaborative effort to improve health, education and promote an equitable sustainable community.
